More Blockbuster Movie Costumes on Display PDF Print E-mail

HUTCHINSON, KAN. -- The exhibit of authentic Hollywood movie costumes and props at the Kansas Underground Salt Museum has been greatly expanded. Displays have been added to include artifacts from the popular films Talladega Nights, Ali, Charlie’s Angels, and Men In Black II.

Exhibit space in the Underground Vaults and Storage Gallery, located 650 feet below the Earth’s surface, now includes a Charlie’s Angels racing suit and the helmet worn by actress Cameron Diaz; Tommy Lee Jones noisy cricket pistol and sunglasses worn in Men In Black II, racing suit, helmet and shoes worn in the Will Ferrell movie, Talladega Nights; boxing gloves from Will Smith’s movie, Ali, and several other movie props.

“It’s a privilege to give visitors the chance to see the costumes and props from the set of their favorite movies,” said Linda Schmitt, executive director of the Kansas Underground Salt Museum. “We’re happy Underground Vaults and Storage can combine their work in film storage to also provide the public with the rare opportunity to see memorabilia from major motion pictures. The costume exhibits are a great feature of the Underground Salt Museum.”

Costume artifacts recently added to the display are on loan from Sony Pictures Studios. In addition to the items on loan from Sony Pictures Studios, the museum is also continuing their display of items from Warner Bros. archives, including a SupermanBatman costume. and

The Underground Salt Museum is open to the public for tours Tuesday - Saturday all day and Sunday afternoons.  For more information about making tour reservations call 620-662-1425 or visit our website.
