Kansas Underground Salt Museum welcomes the first passengers.

Engineer Dave Unruh and Conductor Travis Haneke took these passengers on the Salt Mine Express's first general public ride on Wednesday, March 16.

At the Kansas Underground Salt Museum, we understand the need to provide a place of entertainment for the entire family. This includes those with special needs, too! The spirit of adventure is achievable by anyone willing to search it out, and you can find that 650 feet below the surface of the Earth. Back in August, we brought you news that the History Channel would be journeying underground to film a segment of its Modern Marvels show on the “Secret Underground.”  We have received word that the episode will air this Friday, December 10 at 8:00 pm (CST).  The part of the episode that was filmed in Hutchinson focused on the mining process of the Hutchinson Salt Company, the secure storage facility and motion picture clients of Underground Vaults & Storage, and the Kansas Underground Salt Museum.”
