History Channel to Film Underground for Upcoming "Modern Marvels" Episode PDF Print E-mail

HUTCHINSON, KS – A production company will be in Hutchinson on Wednesday, August 18, shooting footage
for the History Channel’s television show, “Modern Marvels.” The video crew will be underground in the salt
mine documenting the activity that happens 650’ under the earth’s surface on a daily basis.
The episode, airing at a yet-to-be-determined future date, highlights underground “marvels” from around the
country. While in Hutchinson, focus will be placed on the mining process of the Hutchinson Salt Company, the
secure storage facility and motion picture clients of Underground Vaults & Storage, and the Kansas Underground
Salt Museum, the world-class educational facility and tourist attraction located in the mine.

Just want to reassure you that we ARE open on Saturday and WILL be there offering trips underground. We have not had phone, internet, or email service since 8:30 am on Friday. If you tried to contact us without success, it sure wasn't because we weren't at the museum just waiting to hear from you! Come on out Saturday!
