The Gallery Tour is a self-guided walking tour of the underground museum, which includes mining, transportation, equipment, and geology exhibits. It also includes an exhibit about Underground Vaults & Storage, plus authentic movie costumes on loan from Sony and Warner Bros.

The Dark Ride is a guided tour on a tram into an undeveloped portion of the mine. It is an optional add-on to the Gallery Tour, but one you shouldn't miss! It includes the opportunity to collect a souvenir piece of salt.

How to get to the
Kansas Underground
Salt Museum
Each tour time departs with a maximum of 28 visitors. Calling for advance reservations will assure you of a departure time with minimal waiting after arrival.

Group Bookings and Reservations

A special discounted rate is available for organized groups of 28 or more and for K-12 school groups. To qualify, arrangements need to be made at least one week in advance. Email questions to  groups@undergroundmuseum.org or call us Tuesday-Friday between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm to check availability or make reservations. Sorry, but reservations cannot be made via email or online because we want to personally visit with you and be assured of having complete, accurate information in order to guarantee your tour time.

This is probably a silly question but earlier this evening I saw on the news that is was +80 degrees in the location where Chile miners are currently trapped. My question is why when I noticed it was is so cool underground at Hutch Underground Salt Museum . If it is because of them then that can not be good, can it? Sorry, I can be very dense sometimes. Thanks
