Google designates Underground Salt Museum "favorite place"
"Congratulations! You’re a Favorite Place on Google", the letter began. The world’s leading search engine was acknowledging the significant number of its users who searched Kansas Underground Salt Museum on google for driving directions and other information.
Because of that popularity, Google sent an interactive window decal that declares the Salt Museum is a "Favorite Place on Google." The decal includes a special bar code that visitors can scan with cameras on their phones to directly access the museum’s listing on Google, read and write reviews, and add the museum as a favorite if they hadn’t already.
Linda Schmitt, Executive Director of the Salt Museum, said the decal has been placed at the ticket counters in the visitors center. "We certainly recognize the power of Google and its vital contribution to our marketing communications," she commented. "We are very pleased to have been selected for this fun and innovative program."
