What is happening underground is beyond exciting!!! After board approval to spend Event Center Phase I funds (formerly known as “the underground bathroom project”), hundreds of feet of PVC pipe were delivered and pipe support trays started going up in the Great Room. Chalk lines were snapped to establish wall and door placement and metal studs were delivered. The water supply line and sewer return pipe were installed between the pump room near the hoist and the underground bathroom complex. Skeleton walls appeared. Fixtures were generously donated and ordered. We have kept Jerry Wray on the run for parts, tools, quotes, and advice. Sheetrock in 10’ pieces was delivered!

I have enjoyed every minute of it, and my background in construction has come in handy as we modified walls, doors, fixtures, and talked future development. From the very first chalk line, I could SEE what would BE, and I haven’t quit smiling! For 5 years I have looked at those pipes in the concrete floor and despaired over how many more years it would take us to use them. This is no longer a PIPE DREAM!!! I’m beginning to think it may be POSSIBLE!!!

You can help BLAST THE PORTAPOTS OUT OF THE MINE by donating $10, $25, $100, or MORE! Become a member of our Salt Circle 2012 by donating $1000 or more and be recognized on a topside donor board for at least a year, plus be included on a permanent board of recognition underground when the project is complete. By contributing only $100 or more, you too will be included on the permanent board underground. It’s time we take the next step in becoming a world class attraction!!!
